Dallas Cowboys help unveil new luxury hotel near team's new Frisco HQ

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones helped unveil the latest update to the high-profile mixed-use development known as The Star in Frisco, which will house the team's new headquarters and practice facility.

The new 16-story, 300-room luxury Omni Frisco Hotel will help serve as a cornerstone of The Star, which will house the Cowboys' new corporate offices and The Ford Center (the official name of the team's practice facility), which will seat 12,000.

The Dallas Cowboys help unveil a new Omni hotel that will help anchor the 90-acre mixed-use development in Frisco.

Jones said Tuesday that The Star will be the first destination-type development of its kind to bring the Cowboys brand to life for fans.

Plans for the hotel include 24,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes a 13,000-square-foot ballroom. Other amenities include a rooftop pool bar and grill, lobby coffee and wine bar and a luxury retail outlet for Cowboys-related merchandise.

Frisco Mayor Maher Maso said the Cowboys development and new Omni hotel will help bolster Frisco as a world-class destination for visitors.

Construction is underway on the 90-acre site at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. The hotel is slated to open in early 2017.

The Ford Center also will serve Frisco Independent School District students and events. In July, Frisco officials shared a major milestone in the construction of the development of the headquarters and practice facility.
