Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children has bought 40 acres in Frisco to build a new facility.

The facility, which will be named the Scottish Rite Hospital North Campus, will be anchored by the Center of Excellence in Sports Medicine upon completion.

The Scottish Rite Hospital North Campus will sit in close proximity the Dallas Cowboys' new headquarters and practice facility, as well as Baylor Scott & White Health's new sports therapy campus.

The hospital's operators plan to offer clinic visitors and day surgeries for children in need of orthopedic medical care. The Frisco facility is expected to fulfill the rapidly growing medical needs of the ever-evolving Frisco community and its neighboring municipalities.

Baylor Scott & White Health also wanted to help everyone from children to adults with orthopedic issues and other medical needs that can arise from playing sports.

When the health system broke ground on the new facility in June, Baylor Scott & White CEO Joel Allison said, "The goal of Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy & Research at The Star is to make North Texas the safest place in the country to play sports."
