The main road leading into the development will be lined by 200 preserved pecan trees.
Hillwood Communities, a division of Ross Perot Jr.'s Hillwood, has closed on its largest residential development yet — a 1,157-acre tract near Interstate 35W and FM 407 in Northlake that will bring more than 3,000 homes to North Texas.

The houses will be priced from $270,000 to the $500,000s upon completion, depending on lot and home sizes. Pecan Square will also include commercial real estate uses in the future.
"Pecan Square is one of the largest master-planned communities we have developer in our 25-plus year history," Brian Carlock, senior vice president of Hillwood Communities, said in a prepared statement. "It is in the perfect position to offer a wide variety of home prices in a high-quality master-planned community within a tremendous school district."
As part of the project, Hillwood Communities has donated 15 acres to Northwest ISD for an on-site elementary school within the community. The school district has also acquired an additional 150 acres for a new middle school, high school and football stadium.
Northwest ISD Superintendent Ryder Warren said the district has a goal of accommodating more than 23,000 students, and this relationship with Hillwood will help accomplish that goal.
The homes in Pecan Square are expected to be completed and available for purchase in summer 2019. Hillwood Communities has selected eight builders, including Ashton Woods, CalAtlantic Homes, D.R. Horton, David Weekly Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Plantation Homes and Pulte Homes.
The development group plans on preserving two rows of 200 pecan trees along the main drive into the community connecting to FM 407, which will give Pecan Square its name. The square will be anchored by an existing horse training arena that will be repurposed as a multi-use amenity area for residents.
