Cowboys owner Jerry Jones makes another Frisco property purchase

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made another high-profile Frisco real estate buy.

Last year, Jones' Blue Star Land bought the 200-acre Frisco Park25 industrial park on Preston Road in a deal valued at almost $38 million. The project has been renamed Star Business Park.

Now, Blue Star has added to its holdings with a 60-acre purchase nearby on the Dallas North Tollway.

"We feel this frontage along the tollway will provide a nice mixed-use development project to complement the Star Business Park," said longtime Collin County real estate broker Rex Glendenning, who arranged the sale.

The new development site is at the southeast corner of the tollway and Rockhill Parkway in Frisco. The property is south of U.S. Highway 380. Show Full Story

Blue Star bought the Frisco industrial park from the city, which started the $300 million project in 2016. The plans for the warehouse and office development east of the tollway called for more than 2 million square feet of buildings.

The Cowboys are building a 400,000-square-foot merchandising, distribution and sales complex in the park. PowerSecure Lighting also has a building in the project.

"Rex Real Estate first brought the Jones family to Frisco in 1994 when they purchased Starwood — the first of Blue Star's three master-planned subdivisions," Glendenning said.

His real estate firm arranged the Cowboys' purchase of the tollway site for its $1.5 billion Star mixed-use development at the tollway and Warren Parkway. Beverage firm Keurig Dr Pepper recently announced plans to move its North Texas offices from Plano to a $200 million office project planned at The Star.

Blue Star is also developing the Gates of Prosper mixed-use project at Preston Road and U.S. Highway 380 in Prosper.
