Since MetroPCS and T-Mobile merged in 2013, the wireless carrier has more than doubled its customer base and distribution across the country and added tens of thousands of jobs to support the Metro brand, according to a news release.
With all that growth, Metro’s longtime headquarters in Richardson was busting at the seams. The prepaid brand needed a bigger space that also allowed it to stay firmly anchored in its Dallas-area roots. In 2019 the ideal location opened up just a couple of doors down from T-Mobile’s regional business office in Frisco.
The company will nearly double its office space by relocating to the Duke Bridges VII building at 3560 Dallas Parkway in Frisco–leasing all four floors of the building.
In recent weeks the company has been encouraging employees to work remotely as much as possible and says when the time is appropriate, they will relocate its 500 employees to the new 200,000 square-foot space.
The employee base moving from Richardson is comprised of Metro by T-Mobile employees, along with employees from T-Mobile Marketing, IT, Engineering, HR, and Finance.
All told, Duke Bridges VII can accommodate up to 1,200 employees.
T-Mobile was represented in its lease by Scott Hobbs of Cushman & Wakefield and Jeff Ellerman of CBRE.
